A letter from your absentee father drags you to a new town, and the empty house waiting for you is way too tidy for a place that's supposedly abandoned. He kept his word on tuition and lodging, at least, even if he's nowhere to be found.

What follows is less a fresh start than a witch hunt. Dumbarton has something wrong with it, your classmates are the only ones willing to admit it, and finding out what happened to your father means digging into whatever's tormenting the town before it decides to torment you back.

You talk to classmates, make choices that steer the investigation, and decide how much you actually want to get involved. You can also just hole up in your room and hope the girl who thinks she's a pirate doesn't wander in at night. Early chapters are still filling in routes, so some of it currently reads more like a promise than a finished mystery.
