About
Nine months after The Event handed superpowers to women scattered across the globe, disgraced ex-Senator Margaret Rossum dangles an answer in front of anyone willing to enter her competition. The catch, which nobody sees coming, is that the whole thing has been rigged for eons, and every contestant is just a piece on someone else's board.
You play the male protagonist working his way through Rossum's game, clicking through encounters with the powered women pulled into her scheme, from suburban milfs to something closer to gods playing dress-up as contestants. Combat runs on a turn-based draft system, pulling cards and relics between rounds rather than just picking dialogue options, and the point-and-click framing ties the exploration and the fights together.
The draft screen itself has been reworked into a clearer carousel layout with abilities spelled out instead of left for you to guess, and individual character kits get tuned as the balance shifts match to match. It's still early days for the story side of things, with the bigger content drops held for later builds.
Changelog
- A tutorial has been added to explain basic game flow and abilities. There is a new achievement (and award) for completing it.
- All of the "concept" sections have now been added. They are unlocked with achievement codes from "Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, Heart", "Latina Heat", "Flexible", and "Supergroup".
- In options, you can now load saves from a previous version. Currently, all this does is carry over achievement progress, so you don't have to restart your win count from zero.
- AI Aiko behavior adjusted to better judge when to use Yuki.
- Fixed an issue where Sheila's teleport would cause a bug if it interacted with Vesper or ToxicCupcake's ability.
- Fixed an issue where certain achievements weren't tracking correctly.
- Fixed an issue where Isabella's flower icon would block stat values.
- Mostly a bugfix update, with some quality of life changes. Big content additions planned for 0.70.
- Overhaul to the draft screen. It's now a carousel menu where the card values are easier to read and all abilities are explained.
- Nadia's ability nerfed so that she gets a random assortment of two relics every match, instead of all four being available.
- AI Eka adjusted to prioritize stronger targets.
- Visual "drone" indicator added so it's made more clear when Eka uses her ability.
- Anatomy corrections made to some CGs.
- Volume adjustments on certain ability SFX.
- Fixed 37 different bugs related to Vesper's ability. Yes, 37. And I didn't get all of them.
- Fixed a bug where ToxicCupcakes's CGs didn't show (again).
- Fixed a bug where Dakota's ability would sometimes require her to flip a card before activating.
- Fixed an issue where Teuila and Nancy were wasting their abilities to protect safe cards.
- This version introduces a huge gameplay change - abilities.
- Each card now has an ability. Hovering over a card in your hand will give you an overview of their ability and when it can be used. Some are automatic, others require activation or specific conditions.
- Complete AI overhaul. Previously, the opponent only cared about immediately going on offense. It now considers defense and card abilities. You'll find it's less aggressive, but more satisfying to play against. A lot more work still needs to be done.
- The cards actually flip now. The title of my game is no longer a dirty lie.
- First pass of SFX implemented for card flips and some of the abilities.
- The AI now "drags" cards instead of them just teleporting onto the board.
- The "open" rule no longer applies by default and AI cards are now hidden.
- Fixed issue where Na-Rae's song wouldn't play after 0.55 update.
- Aiko's cart art changed.
- Dr. Grant's card art fixed.
- Janie's card art changed.
- Katia's card art changed.
- All achievements now give out codes. Codes now remain on the screen.
- The only codes working right now are for the three extra cards. All other codes are prospective, meaning they will be valid for future unlocks that haven't been implemented yet. The code you get here will work in a future version. You won't need to do the achievement again.
- Added some fun secrets.
- NOTE - Because I've had to rewrite a lot of the game to account for these new systems, please expect EVERYTHING to break. A lot of these abilities interact with each other in ways I can't predict and games are much more chaotic now (in a good way). If you find a bug, tell me what you did and I'll try to replicate and fix it.
- Revamped UI, title screen (more changes to come, I'm still not happy with it)
- Fixed a typo in Navi's bio
- Fixed a typo in Eka's bio
- Fixed a typo in Mandy's bio
- Fixed Navi's card art (missing bindi)
- Fixed Seraphina's card art (wonky hand)
- Fixed an issue where ToxicCupcake's CGs didn't appear when her card was captured
- Fixed an issue where Charlette's defeat CG didn't appear if white won the match
- Fixed an issue where capturing three cards at once caused CG to appear out of bounds
- Senator's spawn rate in AI decks adjusted
- Initial Release
