Devil’s Gambit

Hector, a badger healer, comes back to the small town of Rannai to find the memories he never really let go of. Chief among them is Cadgan, a younger, smaller wolf who was as much trouble as he was charm, and who left Hector with feelings he still hasn't sorted out.

The story leans on what Hector left behind: the wolves he grew up around, the forest east of town, and one particular friendship that never got resolved. Returning means running into old faces, old tension, and the chance to finally deal with Cadgan directly instead of just remembering him.

Play consists of reading through Hector's homecoming and steering his conversations and choices as old feelings resurface, with the town's residents and their teasing, watchful eyes giving the visual novel format something to work with beyond just nostalgia.
