Kurogane Kaikitan -Kenran Karei-

1945 ends differently here: the Allied cities burn, the bombs never fall, and Japan walks out of the war as the world's economic center by 2015, still fighting off terrorists on a near-daily basis. Underneath the Showa-boom skyline sits a stranger fact of life: Kurogane, rare objects with real powers, tools that pick their own users rather than the other way around.

The protagonist belongs to the Kurogane Team, a supposedly top-secret anti-terror unit housed inside a high school that functions more like a specialized academy than an actual police force. He and the heroines who share his affinity for these objects take on missions to hunt down terrorists, and the story follows that team through its cases rather than the politics behind them.

Play sticks to visual novel structure: read through the missions, watch the voiced scenes play out, and steer the branching relationships and outcomes toward one of several endings. Combat and superpowers exist as part of the fiction and the framing of each mission rather than as a separate system to master. The supernatural anti-terror premise does the heavy lifting; the school setting and twin-team dynamic are just where it all plays out.
