The Velvet Falls

A homecoming queen turns up dead at the base of a waterfall, dressed in vintage lingerie and posed like a warning. The town that swallowed her is quiet, damp, and full of people who know exactly why.

You play Special Agent Elias Vance, sent to investigate after an affair with a witness already cost him his judgment once. The case pulls him through smoky lounges, a motel that keeps its own secrets, and misty streets where nobody answers a straight question. A femme fatale runs the motel, a diner waitress carries a sadness she doesn't explain, a bar owner is dangerous in a way that isn't loud about it. No one is innocent, and the closer Vance gets to the truth, the less he wants it.

The game moves at a slow, deliberate pace, built around conversation and observation rather than action, with the town doled out one district at a time rather than opened up all at once.
