The Assessor’s Ledger

In Aethelgard, you're the Assessor: a mid-level bureaucrat who carries a ledger, a silver badge, and a pendulum tuned to sniff out illegal magic. The job is supposed to be routine paperwork, but Theria doesn't work that way, and neither do the women you're sent to investigate.

Your assessments pull you into criminal syndicates and forbidden magic, run by women who've clearly dealt with men like you before and know exactly which levers to pull. The story follows a tired, corruptible man trying to hold the line between his duty and his own weaknesses, with no guarantee he manages either.

Play centers on those assessments: deciding when to enforce the law and when to look away, with the choices piling up against you as the web gets wider. The game tracks your decisions through a choice log and keeps a CG gallery for anything you've already stumbled into, so nothing gets lost if you're the type to second-guess a route.
