A paper airplane lands at your feet the day you and your mother move into a well-worn house on a quiet mountain cul-de-sac, and that small accident becomes the start of a friendship that follows you for the rest of your life. The tone stays gentle and a little wistful, autumn leaves and all.

You grow up alongside two neighbors, Tamarack and Qiu, moving through childhood, the teen years, young adulthood, and full adulthood as the seasons and the town change around you. How close you get to either of them, and when, is left entirely up to how the years actually play out between you.

Play centers on building a character from scratch, name, appearance, personality, and pronouns, all of which can shift as your character grows, with your mother partially customizable to match. Choices about your feelings and preferences get remembered and echoed back by the people around you, and you can steer each relationship at your own pace, from love at first sight to a confession made at the last possible moment to simply staying close friends. Text size, font, and positioning can be adjusted too, a small but genuine nod to making the story comfortable to sit with over a long read.
