My Roman Empire

You take the throne as Caligula, and Rome gets the emperor it deserves: excess, tragedy, and power piled on top of each other until something breaks. It plays as a period drama with the volume turned all the way up, sex and violence in equal measure, history included only when convenient.

The story follows Caligula's rise and rule, tracking the corruption that comes with unchecked authority and the toll it takes on everyone around him. Power is the point, not a footnote.

You steer him through the palace intrigue and personal excess of the role, making the choices that push him further into domination and ruin. The developer says it bears a passing resemblance to actual Roman history, and they mean that as a joke.
