Lu – Steam Developer

You play Lu, an indie game developer looking back on a career that never quite worked out. The overview reads less like a pitch and more like a confession: every other path got abandoned, and making games became the only thing left, whether that's healthy or not.

The horror here grows out of that headspace rather than a haunted house or a killer. Lu keeps working because there's nothing else to do, and the game frames that compulsion as its own kind of trap, with a female protagonist whose paranormal encounters and monster-girl visitors feel like symptoms of the burnout as much as plot events.

Play follows Lu through her routine and the things that intrude on it, mixing 2D and 3D scenes, exhibitionist and masturbatory beats, and sudden violence without much warning between them. It's a small, personal project about a person who can't stop making things, even after deciding she wants to.
