JL: Next Generation

Gotham's costumed icons get pulled into a superhero soap opera where every choice you make quietly rewrites who ends up in whose bed and who ends up betrayed. You play a protagonist working the angles between legendary heroes and villains, and the game doesn't pretend that's a heroic position to be in.

The setup runs on blackmail, mind control, and corruption as much as capes and combat, so relationships with familiar DC faces bend toward manipulation more often than partnership. Consequences stick, and the "hero or villain" framing isn't just marketing copy.

Progression is handled through a sandbox structure with quests and a skill tree you can grow over time, layered over the usual visual-novel dialogue and choice branches. It leans on animated scenes and a fair number of returning story threads rather than one-off encounters, so continuity matters more than random content.
