ImoTsuyo: If It’s for My Young Sister, I’ll Be Stronger

Hana Aochi hasn't laughed or cried since her mother died. She still says and does exactly what she wants, but the emotion behind it is gone, and her older brother Saigo can't shake the feeling he's lost something he doesn't know how to get back.

Saigo takes on the job of pulling his sister out of that shock, moving through their shared home and school life as he tries to reach her. What that closeness turns into, and who else gets pulled into it along the way, isn't something the story spells out up front.

It plays as a kinetic novel: you read through Saigo and Hana's routine rather than steering it, with the sibling relationship as the fixed center and other people drifting in and out of it. There's no branching to chase here, just the one story running to its end.
