Guardians of Daybreak

In near-future Japan, crime festers while the police shrug, and Ren'ou Academy keeps churning out elite bodyguards for the daughters of the rich. Kaito Asagiri wants none of it. He's finished his training year, he's entitled to a Lady of his own to protect, and his plan for the new school year is to quit and go home.

That plan lasts about as long as it takes one particular girl to decide she's taken an interest in him. She doesn't ask his opinion on the matter. He resents it, mostly, right up until he realizes he'd rather stay and guard her than leave, and from there his carefully reticent life at the academy starts coming apart.

The game plays as a visual novel: you read Kaito's stubborn, quiet reactions to a girl who's already decided how this goes, and steer a school-set story of duty curdling into romance toward one of several endings. The route includes voiced scenes and translated subtitles for its openings and endings, and the translation covers all three parts of the story in full.
