Invaders dropped out of the sky with one goal: procreation. Men got killed, women got taken, and one region's fightback is the slice of the war this game covers.

Humanity builds machines to push the invaders back, and the story follows the resistance in that single contested territory rather than the whole global mess. It's a side-scrolling action-RPG, so the framing is war footing, not romance.

You fight through 2D side-scrolling combat as a female protagonist, and losing isn't just a game-over screen. Getting overwhelmed by the monsters tips straight into corruption and worse, tentacles included, before you're shoved back into the fight. The threat is mechanical, and so is the punishment for failing at it.
