About
The Quincy war is over and the Shinigami won it, but the victory gutted Soul Society's strongest ranks. The fix is a new law: the weak obey the strong, enforced through a tournament for the seat of Supreme Commander of the Gotei 13. Ichigo Kurosaki, still a temporary Shinigami, gets pulled into it whether he likes it or not.
Every match has two outcomes and both matter. Beat an opponent and they answer to you; lose to one and you answer to them, which flips who's giving orders and who's taking humiliation in the following scenes. The roster runs through familiar Gotei 13 faces, with battles doubling as the game's real progression system rather than a side activity.
One character is walled off by design: Retsu Unohana is meant to be picked last, after everyone else is beaten, and she has no scenes of her own waiting at the end.
