A Wife at Stake

Laura is 26, Italian, and clear about what she wants: a house in her hometown and a shop of her own. Her boyfriend Mario is the one who drags her toward a way of getting there that has nothing to do with saving up carefully.

The money is easier where he's pointing her, and it comes from a world she's never had to deal with before, full of people who notice a young, good-looking woman and the danger that comes with that attention. Her old plans and this new opportunity don't sit well together, and the story follows what she gives up, and to whom, to close the gap.

You play through Laura's side of this, moving her through conversations and choices as the situation with Mario and the people he introduces her to develops. It's a visual novel built around her decisions, not a sandbox to wander around in, and the story keeps its focus on her rather than spreading across a cast of side characters.
