The story follows that unraveling: what looks like just another day at work turns into a chain of events where logic stops applying and desire starts tangling with fear. Someone is watching, something is tampering with your head, and the yokai folklore lurking behind it all suggests the myths might not be metaphors. Every thread you pull gets you closer to an answer and further from anything you can trust.

You move through this as the office worker at the center of it, poking at the mystery through exploration and light puzzle-solving that opens up new paths and, eventually, new people willing to get closer than they should. The sandbox structure lets you set your own pace between the investigating and the entanglements, with more than one way for the story to end depending on how deep you let it pull you in.
