You come back to the town you grew up in, an orphan with no reason left to stay away, and the place doesn't feel right anymore. Something's off with the people, the streets, the whole rhythm of it, and nobody's explaining why.

The story has you picking apart what actually happened to your hometown while you were gone, following leads that turn into something bigger than a missing-persons case. It's less a homecoming than an unraveling.

Day to day you talk to the people still around, most of them older, married, or otherwise complicated, and decide how far those conversations go. Romance runs alongside the mystery rather than separate from it, with the same characters who might be lying to you about the town also flirting with you across the kitchen table. There's some humor in how tangled that gets, since half these relationships have no business existing and everyone involved seems to know it.
