Spiritus Familiae

Sierra Tenebris comes home at eighteen after five years in a juvenile detention center, expecting an awkward reunion at best. Instead she finds her family unraveling and a town sitting on secrets that are both dark and dangerous, one of which concerns the actual truth of how she was born.

The story pushes into heavy territory on purpose. Sierra's own history includes things the game treats as background only, rape among them, and none of that is ever shown on screen or offered as a player choice. Hard NTR is likewise off the table entirely, no exceptions, though three of the love interests sit right on that line without crossing it: one is already sexually involved with someone who never appears in-game, and two others are involved with each other, a relationship Sierra can eventually break up if she chooses. Early on there's explicit talk about what those two are doing together, and depending on how the player steers things, Sierra can end up joining them. All three of those arcs are optional, though two of the characters stay important to the plot even if romance is turned down.

This is built as an incest-forward story from the start, not one of those games that swaps in a landlady or a roommate to dodge the label. All three of Sierra's sisters and her mother are fixed, non-skippable parts of the cast. Sierra herself is intersex and identifies as a lesbian, so every intimate scene in the game runs futa on female or futa on futa. Underneath all of it sit corrupted, heavily reworked strands of Judeo-Christian religion and myth.

As the story moves forward, the danger stops being abstract. Sierra and the people around her start confronting the lies they've been telling themselves, the supernatural plot line takes over more of the foreground, old family secrets surface, and Sierra's Seraphillion nature becomes harder for anyone, including her, to keep hidden.
