Sorceress * Alive! ~the World’s End Fallen Star~

A boy named Kouki gets swallowed by a flash of light and dumped in a floating school where magic decides your rank and he happens to have none of it. Akina, who looks a lot like a girl he once admired, takes him on as her servant, which is a rough start when everyone around you can throw spells and you can't.

The story turns on Rave, a school-wide magic tournament that ends up being the thing that actually ties Kouki to the people around him, servant status or not. It's a fish-out-of-water setup dressed in floating-castle fantasy trappings, told straight rather than played for laughs.

Play is visual novel reading with voiced scenes, following Kouki through his new life at the school and the relationships that grow out of his lopsided position as a magic-less servant among magicians. Multiple endings branch off from how those bonds shake out, so where the story lands depends on who Kouki ends up close to and how the Rave tournament plays out for him.
