Shadows of Desire

Fred is short, his girlfriend is out of his league by any normal measure, and the guy who's spent years making his school life miserable happens to be dating disaster waiting to strike again. It's their final year of classes, everything finally seems to be going right, and the game spends its runtime asking whether that can possibly last.

The setup is simple jealousy and pressure: an unassuming guy trying to hold onto a relationship while circumstances, and other people, keep testing it. Whether that ends in loyalty or betrayal is the whole point of playing.

Progress moves chapter by chapter in sandbox form, with a separate cheating route sitting alongside the main story for anyone who wants to watch things go wrong instead of right. Early chapters have been redone with new renders and animations as the game has gone on, so the beginning looks better than it used to while the later chapters are still catching up.
