A dead world, a scavenged escort mission, and a title that's daring you to make the obvious joke before you even boot it up. The Survivor is stuck getting a young girl through infected territory and hostile human factions alike, and the game is upfront about the fact that he's screwed up before and gets an unusual shot at fixing it.

That premise carries more weight than the title suggests. Resources are thin, the undead and raiders don't care about anyone's feelings, and the two leads have to work through mistakes and growing attachment while just trying to stay alive one stretch of ruined road at a time.

Play follows that same tension between survival and connection: managing scarcity and danger on the road while conversations and choices shift the relationship between the two travelers, with intimacy arriving as an outgrowth of that bond rather than a menu you click through. Formerly known as One Second Chance, if that name rings a bell from before the rebrand.
