Layla: Shattered Hopes

Layla trades a dead-end farm town for the city, chasing the kind of clean start that only exists in fairy tales. What starts as a rags-to-riches setup curdles fast into something closer to a thriller about exploitation, where nobody does anything for free.

The city gives her a cheap motel room facing the dumpsters and a waitressing job where the tips depend on what she's willing to tolerate rather than how she smiles. A simple favor turns into an obligation, and the obligation turns into a standing arrangement for "additional services," with Layla trying to figure out how much of herself she's willing to sign away to survive.

Play consists of steering Layla through that slow squeeze, choices, and multiple endings, watching how far a person bends before something breaks or changes. The game leans hard on its music and sound design to sell the darker turns, and it says so outright, so this is one of those rare cases where muting it actually costs you something.
