The loop stays simple throughout: piece together an image to unlock the next beat of a scene, then read on as things escalate. Difficulty and heat both climb as each episode goes, so the early grids are more warm-up than payoff. It's a kinetic novel at heart, the puzzles are just the toll booth between chapters.
