Duvessa Devereux wants Rosegate's throne of power, or whatever passes for it among nobles, merchants, and schemers, and she's willing to claw, seduce, or blackmail her way there. The city runs on leverage, and Duvessa either learns to hold it or ends up held.

Rosegate itself is the game's real stakes: a kingdom hub full of factions circling each other, and every scheme Duvessa runs ripples out into who ends up controlling it. The plot moves through her rise, or her fall, depending on what you let her get away with.

Choices tilt Duvessa along a sub/dom axis that decides whether she becomes the one running the manipulation or the one getting broken by it. That alignment shapes her relationships, her leverage over the factions, and which of the multiple endings you land on. There's no neutral path here; every decision either sharpens her into a predator or hands her over to someone else's.
