Hyperreality

Your own mind turns out to be the least trustworthy thing in this story. Memories don't line up, an artificial intelligence is pushing its way into everything, and the line between what's real and what's manufactured keeps moving on you.

The setup is a fractured past colliding with a rising AI presence, and the game strands you between the two, forcing you through distorted versions of reality that don't stay put. Faye, "Brayonetta," and Lucy are among the people caught up in that instability, though the plot centers on your own unraveling more than theirs.

It plays as a kinetic novel: you read, you watch the scenes unfold, and you follow the male protagonist through mind control, corruption, and superpowers rather than steering him yourself. Presented as static 2D CG artwork with an AI-assisted look rather than animation, and the developer has already gone back to touch up hands, faces, and a few character CGs after early feedback rather than leave them rough.
