Heart of a Hero

Ten years after superpowers first appeared and turned part of the population to stone, you wake up as the first person ever to break free of that frozen sleep, and get folded straight into the Hope Guardians, the hero team formed in the Catastrophe's wake. The setup is equal parts capes-and-powers story and a chance to figure out who you actually want at your side now that you're back.

Between the main story beats, the game hands you a calendar rather than a script. Afternoons and evenings are yours to spend patrolling, training up your stats, working through a skill tree, or spending time with one of the four Hope Guardians you can grow closer to, and what you choose to do shapes which conversations and scenes actually open up later. Before any of that starts, you pick your hero's name and genitals, so the story bends around the character you build rather than the other way around.
