Uncle Buck dies and leaves you his motel in Pinewood Hollow, a town of 3,200 people who all seem to know your business before you've unpacked. You get one year to fix the place up before a corporation flattens it for something more profitable.

Underneath the renovation deadline sits a mystery that turns out to run deeper than a broken motel and a nosy town usually warrant. You're pulled into it while trying to keep the lights on and the wrecking crew away.

Day to day, you split your time between patching up the motel and wandering Pinewood Hollow, getting to know the locals well enough that their stories, secrets, and eventually their fully animated scenes open up to you. There's also a cat living on the property. He hasn't decided to like you yet, and the game doesn't seem in a hurry to make him.
