The clock is the whole plot: 365 days to fix the finances and rebuild the resort's reputation before it goes under for good. Everything else, the guests, the staff, the side events, hangs off that deadline.

Day to day you're juggling budgets and small decisions rather than running a full simulation, the management layer stays deliberately light so it doesn't choke out the character stories or slow down the parts you're actually here for. Progress moves through dating-sim style relationship beats and side events layered over that sandbox structure, with the numbers-management just there to give the choices some weight.
