Dusk After Class

He comes home from a war he can't remember, to a city where every other man has vanished without explanation. The hospital fixes his scars, then hands him a classroom full of troubled girls and calls him their teacher and guardian.

Nobody tells him why he's the only one left, or why these particular girls were chosen for him. What he finds instead is a group of kids who aren't broken by nature, just abandoned, hurt, or forgotten by everyone who was supposed to notice them first.

The game moves at a walking pace: sit with the girls, hear them out, stay steady while they test him. As their guard drops, his own blank past starts filling back in, piece by piece, through them rather than around them. It's less about solving a mystery than about two kinds of damage slowly meeting in the middle.

This is the opening chapter of a longer story, so the wounds are just starting to show, not close.
