Drive to Nowhere

A mother walks out on her husband with nothing but a half-tank of gas and her adult son riding shotgun, and the road doesn't offer many clean options after that. The tone stays grim and grounded, more about what desperation does to people than any easy fantasy of escape.

With no destination, no money, and no plan, the two drift from town to town looking for gas, food, and a place to sleep. Along the way come offers of help that always seem to have strings attached, some merely awkward, others outright dangerous, and the story keeps asking what the two of them are willing to trade for another day on the road.

Play follows their choices at each stop: who to trust, what to accept, how far either of them will bend before something breaks between them. It's built as a visual novel, so the pressure comes from dialogue and decisions rather than any kind of combat or exploration, and the world around them stays as bleak and unglamorous as the situation demands.
