About

Crane wakes up next to a woman who insists she's his childhood friend and lover, though he can't place her face in his memory at all. A figure outside the house sends him into the woods to sort out what's happening and how he ended up here in the first place.

The setup leans into dread as much as romance: a dystopian, monster-haunted world where the line between lover and threat isn't clear yet, and Crane has to walk into the treeline to find out which is which.

Play moves between exploration and combat as Crane pushes deeper into the woods, running into monster girls and paranormal trouble along the way. Encounters mix fighting with the game's romantic and sexual content rather than keeping them separate, so the horror and the seduction share the same scenes instead of taking turns.

Changelog

v0.22
  • H-Scenes/Story/Characters:
  • New characters: The Gremlin Sisters can be found in Flooded Colony.
  • New characters: The Mermaid Warriors. Can be found and fought throughout Flooded Colony. Defeat enough of them and prove yourself to unlock special scenes.
  • New Animated H-scene for Squonk.
  • New Animated H-scene for Black Hound.
  • A new diary can be found somewhere in Flooded Colony.
  • Systems:
  • Fast Travel can now be unlocked. You'll find the means to access it somewhere in Flooded Colony. Enables you to instantly travel to certain areas that you've been to before. If you are loading a save from a previous version, you may have to re-visit certain areas (Princess' Cabin, and Moonview Brothel) to unlock the ability to fast travel there.
  • Fast Travel Can be used from Maps that do not have enemies or have been cleared of enemies (For players transferring saves from older versions, this will probably not function correctly in Lampcrop Borderwoods, sorry.)
  • You can now donate "Diaries" to Black Hound's library. Donating enough will unlock new scenes with her.
  • Fixed a bug that caused "Peek Mode" to slow down your camera until you changed maps. Oops.
  • Combat/Exploration:
  • Brand New Area: Flooded Colony. To access, find the "Note - Flooded Path" by checking the river in the South East part of Lampcrop and give it to Bunyan. After fighting the Horsewoman, talk to her again to open up the new area. (May need to leave the area and re-enter again to trigger properly.)
  • New enemies in Flooded Colony: 3 basic enemies and 2 types of elite enemies.
  • I haven't done that much testing for Flooded Colony yet, and further weapon upgrades aren't available yet. So enemies are likely a little weaker than they will be in the final version.
  • Combat on the backend has been slightly overhauled. New damage formulas and adjusted stats. Goal is to make defense and effects that change defense more impactful.
  • Wooden Shield and Knight's Shield now provide flat defensive bonuses, rather than percentage based.
  • Some Quick Skill attacks now deal extra damage based on your Speed stat. Default Speed reduced to 25.
  • Critical Hit damage has been changed. Now deals 50% extra damage by default, increasing by 1% for each point of Luck. Default Luck reduced to 20, some items now grant flat Luck stat.
v0.2
  • !! IMPORTANT - IF TRANSFERRING SAVES FROM v0.1: !!
  • Due to some reworking of items on the backend, your weapons will likely be shuffled/messed up. Interact with the lamp on the left side of Crane's house and pick "Weapon Fix" to fix these. Ignore this if you are playing normally, as it may delete or un-upgrade some weapons you have obtained.
  • The game will also be set to the highest difficulty setting by default. If you would like to change difficulty settings, check the Book in Crane's House.
  • H-Scenes/Story/Characters:
  • New character sprites, busts, and some updated CGs.
  • 3 New full animated H-scenes have been added.
  • Several New CGs and illustrated H-scenes have been added.
  • Several characters now have expanded interactable content to meet them and unlock their respective scenes.
  • Nearly all existing temporary assets have been replaced with custom made ones. (Blank item icons, RPGMaker Tileset assets, etc.)
  • Systems:
  • WASD movement has been added, you can use that or the Arrow keys to move, along with some other hotkey reassignments:
  • You can now use 'E' as another 'Okay/Interact' key like Z and Enter, to better work with WASD.
  • 'Page Up' and 'Page Down' and their respective functions/menus can now be accessed through the 'R' and 'F' keys respectively.
  • A 'Status' menu has been added as an option on the main menu where you can view Crane's stats, such as Attack, Defense, etc.
  • Several Menus have been adjusted to be easier to read and use (you can actually see more than one thing at a time,) including:
  • Equipment Menu
  • Skill Menu
  • Shop Menu
  • A Map menu has been added. After finding the map (located in the first Lampcrop area) you can open it outside of combat by pressing 'Tab.'
  • A 'Peek' function has been added. Press 'Control' or 'Alt' while in the overworld and you will enter the 'Peeking' state, where pressing directional keys will move the camera in the direction you press, allowing you to scout ahead or look around. Press 'X' or 'Escape' to exit the mode.
  • Added a 'Quick Menu' for basic field skills. By pressing 'F' or 'Page Down' outside of battle, you can use 'Basic First Aid' and 'Deep Breaths' without needing to enter the Skill menu. Other Field Skills acquired in the future will still need to be used from the Skill Menu by default. Exit this menu by pressing 'X' or 'Escape'
  • You can now select a difficulty mode at the start of the game: (Check the menu in game for the exact details.)
  • Adventure (Normal)
  • Survival (Hard)
  • Exploration (Easy)
  • Combat/Exploration:
  • Enemies now drop additional items. Basic enemies occasionally drop new consumable items. Elite enemies are guaranteed to drop Poxflowers.
  • Princess' Shop has been expanded with new items and adjusted prices. She now gives the Rusted Key (to open the shortcut back to Crane's House) for free after speaking with her.
  • Bunyan can now upgrade Melee and Ranged Weapons by 1 stage. These upgrades come with new abilities or improved passives/skills.
  • Melee weapons now alter the properties of your Basic Attack. Check the 'Passive' sub menu of the 'Skill' menu when you have a weapon equipped to see details about these.
  • Some new Accessories have been added that can be found throughout the forest or purchased from Princess.
  • Some new items, called 'Tools' can be found. These are key items that permanently unlock new Field Skills.
  • Several new secret locations can be found across Lampcrop. Keep an eye out for secret passages as these will often always lead you to valuable items.
  • 'Diaries' can be found while exploring, which include small sexual side stories featuring smaller CGs.
  • 'Guard' and 'Quick-Guard' have been improved, each now being 25% more effective than before.
