Cane and Able

Ryan Calloway welcomes an older man leaning on a cane into his home without a second thought, and his wife Megan spends every day after telling herself that being kind to their guest is the right thing to do. Nothing about that reassurance sounds convincing for long.

Ryan has the job, the house, and three years of marriage to Megan behind him, and he trusts people easily. That trust is exactly what gets tested once the stranger settles in, and the story splits between Ryan's blind faith and Megan's growing awareness that her kindness is being used against her.

The visual novel runs on two perspectives, husband and wife, letting you read how the same situation looks from someone who refuses to see the problem and someone who can no longer ignore it. Progress comes through Megan's slow corruption rather than any sudden turn, so the tension builds scene by scene instead of all at once.
