Twenty years after his wife and daughter were taken from him, an ex-soldier tries to put a life back together, except the army left something in his head that never healed right.

The story follows him as those old scars start surfacing, dragging up danger, complications, and desires he never let himself look at before. What began as a rebuilding story turns into a slow account of how far a decent man can be pushed before he stops being decent. The game doesn't pretend there's a clean answer to that, it just keeps asking how twisted "twisted" can get.

Play consists of reading through his unraveling and making choices that decide which direction that unraveling takes, since the story branches toward more than one ending depending on how far you let him fall. It's built around that descent rather than around puzzles or exploration, so the choices carry the weight.
