A possum named Grey walks away from his old life in 1920s New Orleans and lands somewhere much worse, pulled under by a bartender named Virgil who seems to know more than he lets on. The mood is bleak and it means to be; the game opens with a warning about suicide, self harm, and sexual assault, and it isn't bluffing.

Adrift among the dead, Grey runs into a handful of men tied to his old home, a plantation with its own buried history. Just as fast as they find each other, they're torn apart again, and Grey is left with nothing to do but dig.

Play moves through dialogue and choice, following Grey deeper into whatever Virgil's afterlife actually is while old ties resurface and pull him back toward the plantation's past. It's built as a visual novel first, atmosphere and dread over spectacle, so don't expect much beyond stills and text carrying the weight.
