Darks married into demon royalty and became a maou himself, which apparently isn't enough for the demon world's inspectors. When the observer Macdo turns up unimpressed by his work, she gives him one job: build a town worth the title, or lose it.

He's not doing it alone. Wives, daughters, and a growing harem of women who've thrown their lot in with him carry as much of the load as he does, while resistance fighters and meddling forces from the heavens make sure nothing stays simple. The tone leans on humor and melodrama in equal measure, treating the harem politics as seriously as the war for the town's survival.

Running the town is a management and strategy layer, deciding what gets built and who gets assigned where, while threats to that town get settled in turn-based fights. The relationships you build along the way aren't background decoration; they're tied directly into why Darks is doing any of this in the first place.
