Ben gets sent down from heaven to watch over Tim, a regular young guy, quietly and unseen. That plan lasts about as long as it takes for Tim to notice him. Ben can feel what Tim feels and hear what he's thinking, but steering him is another matter entirely.

The setup is a guardianship that goes wrong on contact: an angel with a mandate to guide and none of the actual authority to do it. Tim has his own head, his own wants, and no intention of being managed by a voice only he can sense.

You play out that mismatch through Tim's day-to-day, school halls and dating-sim beats mixed with stranger detours into fantasy and sci-fi territory, as the story pushes Tim toward encounters he wasn't steered into so much as talked, teased, or shoved into. Corruption creeps in less through Ben's plan and more through Tim simply following his own instincts, with Ben along for the ride as witness rather than director.
