Altair of Strife

A husband and wife built their whole lives around protecting their village, and one ambush was all it took to tear that apart. What started as a routine job against bandits turns into a trap, and the couple gets separated with no clean way back to how things were.

From there the story splits into two threads, following what happens to each of them apart from the other, as the world around them starts working to pull them further away from the life they had. Corruption, coercion, and worse follow as circumstances close in, with monsters and men alike taking advantage of the distance between them.

Play centers on steering that separation, making choices that shape how far things go and which of several endings the couple ends up with. It's a 2D game built around consequence rather than combat, where the real fight is over what's left of the marriage by the time the two threads meet again, if they meet at all.
